The CFO supervises the Business Office and is the chief financial spokesperson for the organization. The CFO works for the Headmaster and with the Board of Trustees and directly assists on all strategic and tactical matters as they relate to budget management, cost benefit analysis and forecasting needs as well as supporting various Board of Trustees committees including Finance, Investment and Audit. The CFO is the Treasurer of the Roessler Chadwick Foundation. The CFO plans for and oversees the complex financial activities of a non-profit organization operating on 2 continents with two distinct culture and set of constituencies.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES ? Assist in performing all tasks necessary to achieve Chadwick School?s mission. ? Coordinate and manage the function of financial planning for the school, including the preparation of the annual budget. ? Train/coach senior leadership on financial management matters. ? Work with the Headmaster on the strategic vision and its implementation ? Assist the Headmaster and Executive Director of Development in identifying and managing revenue sources. ? Work to ensure success through cost analysis support, and financial compliance with all contractual requirements. ? Oversee the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities for the organization including organizational revenue/expense and financial statements. ? Oversee all purchasing. ? Develop and maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard financial assets and processes of the organization. ? Manage regulatory compliance. ? Attend Board of Trustees and committee meetings as required. ? Monitor banking activities of the organization. ? Ensure adequate cash flow to meet the organization's needs. ? Investigate cost-effective benefit plans and other fringe benefits in order to retain and attract outstanding faculty and staff. ? Assist in the design and implementation of the compensation structure for faculty and staff. ? Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable ? Ensure a disaster recovery plan is in place. ? Oversee business insurance plans and health care coverage analysis. ? Oversee the maintenance of the inventory of all fixed assets, assuring all are in accordance with federal regulations. ? Oversee the reconciliation of development activities including gift and pledges. ? Serve as the point person for financial benchmarking through outside organizations including JRPO, NAIS, NBOA, etc. ? Proactively monitor rends for future opportunities and challenges affecting independent schools. ? Provide effective leadership to develop and articulate a financial vision and collaborate effectively with administrators, faculty & staff and the Board of Trustees. ? Model the core values of Chadwick School. ? Supervises the Financial Controller at Chadwick School in Palos Verdes and the CFO at Chadwick International in Songdo. ? Manage relationships with external parties including bank representatives, financial consultants, auditors, investment advisors, custodians, and others directly related to the school?s financial affairs. ? Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS Knowledge of: ? Non-profit accounting and finance in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. ? General office software, particularly the Microsoft Office Suite and use of databases.
Ability to: ? Foster and cultivate business opportunities and partnerships. ? Create and assess financial statements and budget documents. ? Recognize and be responsive to the needs of all stakeholders of the organization including the Board of Trustees ? Supervise staff, including regular progress reviews and plans for improvement. ? Communicate effectively in both written and verbal form. ? Partner and collaborate in a non-profit culture
Education: ? Completion of a bachelor's degree at an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience. ? Completion of a master's degree at an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience preferred.
Experience: ? As a Chief Financial Officer or comparable position. ? Five to seven years of financial and management experience with the day-to-day financial operations of an organization; some non-profit experience preferably. ? Experience managing multi-site and multi-national organizations preferred.
